Department Council
Governing Bodies
The Department Council is the decision-making body for the department's activities. The Department Council:
- is composed of professors and lecturers belonging to the Department's Scientific and Teaching Areas;
- is chaired by the Director of the Department, who convenes it;
- puts forward to the Academic Senate proposals for the appointment of full and associate professors and of fixed-term researchers, and makes proposals regarding the composition of selection committees for teaching and research staff. For proposals concerning full professors, the meeting is restricted to members of the same rank; for proposals concerning associate professors, the meeting is restricted to members of full and associate professor rank. Except as otherwise provided with regard to the term of office of the researcher, student and Scientific Head of Area representatives, the Academic Senate serves a three-year term.
